Psalm 150:6
Kol Ha'neshama tehallel Yah, Hal'lu Yah
All.......the souls...... praise God, praise God.
This final verse of the great book of Psalms admonishes us to praise the Lord. We know that this is the day that the Lord has made, then let us rejoice and be glad in it. We may also read this verse with "Ha'neshima" - breath instead of "Ha'nashima" - souls. Then the verse would say as the king James bible renders "Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord"
How can we praise the Lord in these most difficult and trying times? Global fear, pestilence and death characterize our current period. Men's hearts are failing them for fear as economies collapse everywhere. Mass hysteria, binge buying and school closings, businesses shutting down, food and supplies rationing, all contribute to the grim image of our times. Increasingly popular vocabulary like "social distancing" and "self-quaratine" are heard hundreds of times over the radio and television broadcasts, every day.
Yet, despite the global panic and understandable fear, let us be reminded that God is violating all protocol. He is not quarantined, He is not wearing a protective hazmat suit or face mask, God is not suffering from a shortage of anything or practicing social distancing. Rather, He is out and about ! As per His command, the sun did rise this morning, and nature seems to be doing just fine. There are still birds chirping in my backyard and lemons ready for the harvesting. My fig and pomegranate trees are shooting out new leaves for the spring season and my family members are all doing well. Furthermore, I have reason to believe that all members of FHG are faring well at this time. The hand of our great God is reflected through the tireless work of brothers and sisters in the medical industry. Law Enforcement personnel are "on their jobs" - resolute yet compassionate in their efforts to maintain peace.
Please be encouraged that God is still in command of all things, His sovereignty has not been compromised by the Novel COVID-19 crisis. We can draw close to Him with no fear of contracting any disease. So while we sensibly adhere to the wise advise of our health officials, let us at the same time praise the Lord for He is good, His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures to all generations.
Kol Ha'neshima tehallel Yah, Hal'lu Yah!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord, Praise the Lord,
because of Calvary,
Pastor Chandroo
