Greetings to all in the wonderful name of Jesus!
Please pray for our President, the first lady and all who have contracted the awful covid-19. Thank God that VP Joe Biden tested negative today. This morning in Israel, there was a nationwide call to prayer on behalf of our President and first lady. Also this morning, Jewish rabbis were standing on the Mount of Olives, facing the Temple Mount while in prayer for our President's healing. Let us also pray for our President and family. May our great God rebuke this virus in our land, in Israel and across our world. Have mercy on us O Lord! Corona infections continue to surge in Israel as the nation marks Sukkot under lockdown. That said, I encourage all of you to please wear your face masks when not at home and social distance when in public places. Thank God that as far as I know, no member of FHG has contracted the virus. PRAISE THE LORD!
While the average American focuses on domestic issues as they relate to the upcoming and most important Presidential election, I believe that it is equally important for bible students and Christians to also pay attention to events taking place in the international community, as some of these happenings bear a direct relationship to Israel and bible prophecy.
Some of you may have heard the news coming out of Iran yesterday. A spokesperson for the Iranian military promised full support for any country willing to attack Israel or the US. He further claimed expectations for a relief of US economic sanctions and the re-instating of the Iran Nuclear Deal as soon as there is a new resident in the White House. I hope that Iran is never given any leeway to promote an attack on our great country or the Jewish State.
"The Jerusalem issue is not a geopolitical problem for us. Jerusalem is our city, a city from us. In this city that we had to leave in tears during the first world war, it is still possible to encounter traces of the Ottoman resistance." - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan continued to emphasize that since Turkey controlled Jerusalem for the 400 years of Ottoman rule, the city still belongs to the Turks. It is of course the desire of both the Turks and the Iranians to be in control of the holy city. They will have to compete with the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. They will also have to contend with Hezbollah in Lebanon. I would advice that they read Amos 9:15.
Did anyone hear about the meeting coming up in two weeks with Israel, Lebanon and a representative from the Trump administration. It has to do with a discussion over territorial waters, but it is a huge accomplishment for the US. Who would have thought that Israel and Lebanon would hold talks over anything?
Now for your assignment:
What did Jesus mean in Matthew 11:30 when He said "For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."?
Please send your responses to me by Tuesday 6th. Please carefully study the Lord's statement and solicit ideas from others, but remember, you are not allowed to plagiarize. Responses received after October 6th, will not be considered. I still do expect responses from you.
It is my hope and prayer that FHG be open for service on November 1st. Let us pray that the Lord does not allow our COVID numbers to rise ever again. We will all be wearing face masks and be free to move our seats around to social distance.
