Just a Thought - 01/24/2021

Greetings to all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Here's hoping that everyone is doing well and accessing the corona vaccine as you become eligible. I am anticipating reopening our wonderful assembly soon and very soon.

As you may know, I am one of many who cannot in good conscience celebrate the new Biden/Harris administration. You may also know that there are multiple reasons for this. Some of these reasons include the distasteful liberal, progressive agenda of the Democratic party. Please understand that based on biblical principles, I cannot and will not support the administration's abortion policy. I believe that every life is precious and except for certain very restrictive conditions, innocent life must be protected. Additionally, as a follower of the bible's guide to morality, I cannot help but disavow the increasingly popular practice of transgenderism. I have been raised to believe that God created two and only two genders (male and female created He them) and any deviation from that combination is to be considered an emotional, psychological or physical abnormality. In today's liberal and progressive circle however, scores of different genders are recognized. It is even confusing to learn what some of those differences might be. I'm sure you are all aware that President Biden's appointment for secretary of health and human services, Dr. Rachel levine is a transgender woman. While I cannot promote unfair discrimination among people, I am not sure that a transgender individual is what I would consider sexually normal or that such a person qualifies to overseer other's people's health. Am I old fashioned, outdated, bigoted, or am I making any sense at all? I am so very confused with the fluidity of gender in our post modern culture that I have to rely on a source other than myself for direction. I choose the bible, the word of God as the ultimate source of guidance over matters of morality. The liberal and progressive democratic party therefore cannot be my party of choice and I can already anticipate huge problems with transgenderism in school sports. I wonder whether Biden's Catholicism or Harris's Judaism have any connections to the teachings of the bible.

You may have heard that just minutes after the Biden inauguration, certain individuals in his party instructed that the US Embassy's name in Israel be changed from "The United States Embassy to Israel" to "The United States Embassy to Israel, Palestine and Gaza" Thankfully, our new President's choice for US ambassador to Israel, Anthony Belkin, a Jew, had that decision reversed. In the bible, God gave the land Of Israel to the sons of Jacob, (Israel) and not to Israel, Palestine and Gaza. It is my belief that the most biblically significant legacy of President Trump is the establishing of our embassy in Jerusalem. Also thankfully, This is not going to be altered.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior Israeli government officials are gearing up for a possible clash with our new President over his promise to re-enter the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) otherwise known as the Iran Nuclear Deal. The following is an interesting quote from our President:

" I will offer Tehran a credible path back to diplomacy. If Iran returns to strict compliance with the nuclear deal, the United States would rejoin the agreement and a starting point for follow-on negotiations...I am ready to walk the path of diplomacy if Iran takes steps to show it is ready too."

After President Trump withdrew form the JCPOA in 2018, Iran had repeatedly violated the terms of the deal. This is no secret from Israel or the rest of the world and has led a senior Israeli security official to say " If Biden adopts Obama's plan, we will have nothing to talk about with him."

Just hours after his inauguration, President Biden was threated by the mullahs of Iran. In fact, Biden was given the following ultimatum: BY February 21, the US MUST re-enter the Iran Nuclear Deal or else Iran would rapidly pursue the building of nuclear weapons. The Iranian President has also instructed Biden to forward $70, 000,000,000 (seventy billion) US dollars to Iran if he expects Iran to comply with the deal. I do not know whether our President would submit to Iran's order by February 21 as required, but that is left to be seen. I must say however, that I would not be surprised if that quantity of cash was in fact shipped to Iran. After all, President Obama give Iran, the world's largest sponsor of international terrorism, billions in cold cash with billions more, promised. As you know, thanks to our last President the US backed out from that horrible commitment.

Israel is already prepared for a possible strike on Eilat from Iran through Yemen and it is clear that any US encouragement from the US to Iran can promote a massive Middle East war. Please remember that under President Trump, the US did not initiate any new war. Rather, many of our brave American soldiers were returned to their homes here in the States. I hope and pray that my new President follows in those footsteps and do not become a pawn in the hands of Iran, the Palestinians or those in the anti-Israel arm of his party.

Finally, the Abrahamic Accord, designed by the Trump Administration promoted peace between Israel and many of her historic Muslim enemies. While 150 congress members have voted to re-enter the Iran nuclear deal, and while certain Islamic elements within congress are pushing our President to reverse the gains of the Abrahamic Accord, I do not think they will succeed. Rather I suspect that our America the beautiful would implode from within because of the significant conflicts between the deep state and the progressives. I expect to see fights among the vocal members of the democratic party- fights that would lead to our nation's weakening in the world. I can only encourage you to keep your eyes on the news and stay abreast of all that is happening within the US and abroad.

Do I have any good and encouraging news for you? YES!

"For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people: but the Lord will rise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you." - Isaiah 60:2

Our strength is not drawn from the White House in DC but our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). Be aware of what's going on in our world but keep your focus on the words of our Lord. "I will come again" - He promised.
