Greetings to all and may the Lord bless you as always, now and forever.
I thought I would provide you with a very brief update on recent Middle Eastern events as things appear to be happening at rapid speed these days.
Rabbi Yehudah Glick, former member of the Knesset and head of the Shalom Jerusalem Foundation said yesterday:
"First of all , it wasn't Trump who decided to move the embassy, Hashem (God) decided it was time to move the embassy and Trump was the means through which God accomplished this." The popular Rabbi then cited a verse from Proverbs 21:1
"Like channeled water in the mind of the king in Hashem's hand, He directs it to whatever He wishes." Further, Rabbi Glick claimed that the US President's declaration that the Golan Heights region is not to be recognized as Syrian territory but as a part of the land of Israel, is also the work of Hashem.
Allow me to say that Rabbi Glick is absolutely correct! God's sovereignty allows Him alone to make decisions for Israel's land and it's people and He chooses to use whomever He pleases to accomplish His purpose. Thank God for His role in the affairs of men.
As Israel and the United Arab Emirates continue to celebrate their recent "normalization of relationships" and orthodox Jewish pop singer Yaakov Shwekey praises Trump by releasing his hit song "God hear our prayers for four more years", Iran and Turkey team up against the UAE for becoming friendly with Israel while promising to make America pay for its part in supporting the Jewish State. It's most interesting that Iran and Turkey are two of the major players named along with Russia and Libya in the Ezekiel 38 war against Israel. Knowing what scripture says about that war, I was so very disappointed (but not surprised) to watch presidential candidate Joe Biden say yesterday that one of the first things he promises to do if he defeats Donald Trump is to reinstate the Iran Nuclear Deal. What a horrible goal that could potentially drive Israel to a devastating confrontation with its long time Persian enemy. One might argue that the prophesies of the bible must come to pass. That is certainly true and God will use evil men to ensure that. Believing Christians however are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and bless the children of Abraham. We cannot support efforts that threaten the peace of Israel while simultaneously praying for Israel's peace and stability. That is clearly hypocritical and ironic! I can only hope and pray that Christians everywhere do their part to obey the will of God as it relates to His people and His land, not only because Genesis 12:3 promises a blessing for do so, but more importantly because we love God and want to please Him.
There is so much about the current trends in our beloved United States that the Christian church cannot afford to any longer bury its head in the sand and pretend to not be involved. I believe that the church is the conscience of the people and would be held accountable by God for refusing to adamantly uphold God's truth in the face of an evil and perverse generation. Much of what we are seeing today is seriously sad, some of it is humorous and yes, some, just simply confusing. I would have to wait until we meet together but here's just one example:
Aired two days ago, Senator Kamala Harris threat that she will give congress one hundred days to put into action the MANDATORY buy back of certain guns because, in her words, "guns are killing our babies." She then went on to reiterate her position to support abortion up to and including the 9th month of pregnancy. You decide whether Mrs. Harris' position is sad, humorous or confusing. Please understand that Christians cannot excuse themselves for promoting the killing of babies in the womb and blatantly disregard our Lord's command in Matthew 19:14, "Encourage the little children and forbid them not to come me: for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." While I cannot speak for all Christians, I can hope that all Christians bear a conscience that is informed ONLY by the sacred word of our thrice holy God. May God help us!
