Just a Thought - 08/14/2020

Greetings to everyone and may the Lord bless you as you read this blog.

First of all, please keep our deacon George in prayer. He has been undergoing several medical tests during the last 48 hours and we are believing God that he will be given a clean bill of health.

Secondly, I suppose all of you have heard yesterday's news regarding a major Middle East (ME) happening. The White House has been successful in establishing a normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. This is very significant as it involves an Arab State, but I will address its implications in a future blog. There is so much I would like to share with you by way of recent ME events that may relate to bible prophecy but I can do only so much via of this medium. I am not fond of typing and less fond of video recordings - both symptoms of my laziness. I hope that soon we will be able to meet again at our facility in Spring Valley where we can worship and study together.

The following is what I would like to deal with today:

News coming out from the ME affirms Nancy Pelosi's admittance that China is not going to be pleased with another four years of President Trump. The President has certainly disappointed the Chinese Premier by referring to the COVID-19 virus as the Chinese virus and calling out the Chinese Government on their human rights abuses. He has also openly condemned China's attitude towards Hong Kong and so can no longer be embraced as a friend of Xi jinping, the Chinese President. This is certainly understandable.

Additional news from Israel reports that Iran, Syria, Russia and Turkey are all rooting for a Biden/Harris replacement in the White House. President Trump's imposition of economic sanctions on Turkey, Russia and Iran have all but completely collapsed those economies and more importantly significantly curtailed their weapons production. It is common knowledge that there is more than a very strong likelihood that a Democratic White House will reinstate the Iran Nuclear Arms deal and turn a blind eye to hostilities leveled against Israel.

How are these issues possibly related to bible prophecy? I will suggest an answer to this question.

You would recall that about two weeks ago, I shared that during the last several weeks, 'mysterious' explosions have been going off in important military depots and storage facilities in Iran. This had led to a pushing back of Iran's military advancement to three years at the very least. Further, the source of those mysterious explosions is well known and Iran is itching to avenge itself. Some scholars have suggested that if Trump looses the election in November, Iran would shortly thereafter become embolden to launch a massive attack on Israel. She would no doubt be able to secure the support of both Russia and Turkey. This is very conceivable as Russia is determined to get their hands on the recently discovered, vast deposits of Israeli oil. Additionally, the world recognizes that Turkey's President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has a single personal ambition - to become the sultan of a revived Ottoman empire. (I would expand on these ideas so much more and clarify the current ME geopolitical structure for you when we meet in Spring Valley.)

Please allow me to provide you with the following feasible scenarios:

1) Trump looses the election - Israel is no longer guaranteed complete US military support - Iran, Turkey and Russia attack the Jewish State.

2) Trump wins the election - Iran's hands are tied but now they have nothing to loose and will not risk waiting four years - Iran, Turkey and Russia attack the Jewish State.

In both scenarios, ME war is very likely. Please be aware that any attack on Israel from Russia, Iran or Turkey will originate in Syria where those countries store extensive supplies of military hardware. (Does this remind you of a recent catastrophic event in Lebanon?) What options are available to Israel in such a case?

Isaiah 17: 1 - 3 as well as Jeremiah 49: 23 - 27 may offer a clue.
