Just a Thought - 07/20/2020

As the corona virus numbers spike here in the United States and across the world, scientists continue to reach for a viable vaccine and hopeful therapeutics to curb the horrible pandemic. Over the last 24 hours there has been an increase of nearly 260,000 new cases and 7,360 fatalities around the world. Globally, some 600,000 people have been killed by the virus and latest numbers show that more than 140,000 of them were Americans. Re-open, shut-down, re-open, shut-down has been the refrain from local leaders and Governments as they strive to get a handle on this horror. The unpredictability of the virus' behavior coupled with the lack of a sufficiently serious approach by many, seem to be promoting the spread. As an example, we can consider that although our California Governor, Gavin Newsom ordered for the second time, the closing of all bars, gymnasiums and churches, many of these entities selfishly remain open, even at the expense of older, more vulnerable home-bound individuals. It appears that the containing of Covid-19 is a feat too great for mere humans to accomplish.

I am certain that you have observed the recent sudden and steep spike in violent crimes across the cities of our cherished United States. No one, it seems, is exempt from possible victimization. The news media continue to show the elderly, young and the very young become targets of the most hateful crimes. Shootings are up by 200% and in some cases 300% in some of our larger cities. And these are NOT all 'gang-related' acts of violence. It's more than disappointing to observe that nationally known figures who publicly expressed understandable contempt for the killing of George Floyd are completely silent and invisible during the continuous slaughter of innocents across the land. Where is the reverend Al Sharpton and others? Why have they suddenly disappeared? Are they not outraged by the ongoing violence in our land? Is it only one life that mattered?

In the 1970's you would remember, prayer and the bible were removed from schools. Despite the fact that ''the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom", a vocal minority succeeded in ridding our classrooms of prayer and all things religious. This was not an attack on prayer itself or the bible or even our students. Rather this was a blatant attack on almighty God. The result? We have raised a generation of young people - some with no respect for parents, elders, the law or God. But this was not enough of a victory for Satan. In the 1980's, the redefining of marriage came to the forefront of our society. No longer would a marriage be defined as the union of one man and one woman as per God's definition, instead, marriage is now 'fluid'. Men with men and women with women as prophesied by the apostle Paul in Romans 1. Just two nights ago, as sister Sherry and I watched the local San Diego news on TV, we saw excerpts of the gay pride march and display in parts of our city. Of course, the Corona virus significantly restricted the traditional vulgarity usually portrayed on the streets of our inner city, but accommodations were made for those willing to uphold the banner of wicked debauchery. Even our city officials congratulated the LGBTQ movement on 'pride day.' I commented to sister Sherry that God is not shocked when He looks at our news, He has seen disgraceful human behavior before. But, I wonder how He must feel knowing that despite His dealings with this kind of conduct in Sodom and Gomorrah, He must again deal with open rebellion against His commands. The laws governing biblical morality came into question in the 1980's, continue today, and have been altered to suit the whims, fancies and perversions of our depraved human society.

Perhaps the last and final vestige of law and order among any civilized group of people is found in the police. It is true that in any profession or organization of humans, there will be those unfit for the job. From time to time, military persons who fail to uphold the standards of behavior established by their superiors, are to be disciplined. That said, no one suggests the disbanding of the entire military because of the failure of the few. Such a suggestion would be irresponsible and could lead to devastating results. Unacceptable immoral school teachers are also disciplined as they should be, yet no one would suggest the closing down of schools for the poor action of the few. That would be devastatingly self-defeating. We have even seen the sexually perverted behavior of some church priests. Has anyone suggested the elimination of the Vatican in Rome or the shutting down of churches? No! That would be a most stupid suggestion, one that could have untold negative repercussions. I can site many more similar examples, but I think you get my point. The careless and thoughtless action of some police officers strangely enough have resulted in the calling for the defunding of law enforcement across the country. Am I the only one seeing this gross stupidity? Defunding at the same time when we are experiencing a steep surge in violent crimes? Defund the police when we are looking at the wanton destruction of babies? Defund the police when our cities, homes and churches are being vandalized and burnt down? While this makes no sense to me, like you, I understand the bible well enough to know that lawlessness and Godlessness are the hallmarks of the messianic age. It is clear that we are living in perilous times (2 Timothy 3:1). Do not forget that one of the titles of the anti-Christ is "the lawless one." Please take the time to read 2 Thessalonians 2: 3-10 now.

Beyond our borders, we are struggling with the horrendous Australian fires that started in January. Almost 15 million acres of Australia's forests have been destroyed. Several human lives along with millions of animals have been lost. In some areas the fires continue to burn today. I can say so much more on this, but I would allow you to research it on the internet.

Extreme flooding in South China, including the city of Wuhan (from where the corona virus emerged) has left hundreds dead and tens of thousands homeless. So far, almost 20 inches of rainfall have completely destroyed farming crops and factories and there is yet no end in sight. I can say so much more on this but will allow you to research it on the internet.

Swarms of locusts are ravaging the fields of South Africa, leaving the type of food famine described only in the bible. South Africans are eating as many of these locusts as they can, but the swarms are too large to have even a minor effect. I can say so much more on this, but of course, you can investigate this through the internet.

Allow me to make you aware of the recent inexplicable explosions happening in Iran. For this last three weeks, military sites have suddenly been completely destroyed. At least one of these sites was located under the ground and covered with 25 feet of steel - reinforced

concrete. It housed high speed centrifuges which are vital for the development of nuclear weapons. It's unexpected explosion was seen from miles away. Evidently, someone remotely (from another country) reprogrammed Iran's military computers to go into self destruct mode. It is well known that this kind of technology cannot be known by even the most sophisticated computer hacker but only by the world's leading State - sponsored cyber experts. Every other day for two weeks, military sites were surprisingly and shockingly destroyed by massive internal explosions and no one is taking the credit for it. The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is reporting that satellite images show a string of strange and devastating fires cropping up in shipyards, factories, petrochemical plants, and military storage facilities. Another mysterious powerful blast caused massive damage at the top-secret Natanz nuclear complex in central Iran. In fact, just yesterday, a huge transformer mysteriously exploded in the central Iranian province of Isfahan. Although no lives were lost, the event joined the growing lists of uncanny blasts at military, nuclear and industrial facilities. The nation responsible for conducting these maneuvers has justifiable reason for doing so, as Iran has vowed to 'wipe that nation off the face of the earth.' The reason for the timing is also very obvious. You see pastor Brinker and sister Norma, perhaps there is only a 3-4 month window left to ensure that Iran's military capabilities are pushed back at least 10 years. Furthermore, president Trump has guaranteed that should Iran choose to retaliate against her Middle East attackers, her retaliation would be swiftly met by the United States of America. While the 'means' of the actual implosions, explosions and mysterious fires continue to baffle Iranians, no one doubts who is behind them. Everyone in fact knows who the world's best cyber experts are. What is interesting is that there has been absolutely no retaliation from Iran. There are two reasons for this:

First, Iran has always denied the existence of underground and above ground nuclear facilities. It would be most difficult and shameful to now respond to the destruction of the very sites whose existence they previously denied. Second and more importantly, according to Israeli sources, Iran's leaders have been counseled to wait for any retaliation until after November 3rd. Every, and I mean EVERY conceivable effort to oust President Trump from office has and is being employed. Every single one of those efforts have thus far miserably failed, but that has not discouraged the forces against the current administration. Those whose interest it is to replace the President at ANY cost are relentless in their efforts to do so. In fact, individuals in very 'high places' (whose names I will not list) have promised Iran that the Iran Nuclear Deal will be resurrected and reinstated as soon as Trump is removed. Some of you may have seen this on the news. Furthermore, unlimited American support for the State of Israel will no longer be maintained as soon as Trump is out of office. This would open the doors for Iran to then take its full revenge on its Middle East enemy. I can say so much more on this, but I do not wish to contract carpel tunnel syndrome in one sitting.
