Just a Thought - 05/29/2020

Updated: May 30, 2020

Erev tov l'kulam (Good evening to all),

Here's hoping that everyone is doing well and staying safe.

First of all, I feel compelled to remind everyone of the need to address the assignment issued on last Wednesday. Please gather any information you can and pass it on to deacon Jt who in turn would relay it to me asap. You do have a few days to complete the assignment but I must have your responses no later than Tuesday.

Secondly, please keep the bereaved family of Mr. George Floyd in prayer. It is so very sad to watch the news footage of his killing in MN. I cannot imagine how distraught the Floyd family and friends must be at this time. Please also keep our nation in prayer, as what should have been legitimate and understandable protests have degenerated into counter-productive riots in many cities.

Finally, as you know, there is a drive to open many activities in our county. Some churches have chosen to resume services with restrictions. Social distancing and face masks are required. That said, I am aware of smaller churches (in which distancing is not possible) that prefer to remain closed at this time to ensure there is no risk to congregants contracting the virus at their place of worship. For the most part, our congregation comprises older folk, (like me) some of whom have co-morbidities. It is therefore prudent that we wait a while longer before taking any chances we may later regret. I believe that the opening of FHG will happen in the not-too-distant future. I trust that you are all in agreeance with this.

Everyone have a blessed night's rest, a relaxing weekend and an exciting time searching responses to last Wednesday's assignment.
