05/06/2020 - Just a thought

Blessings to all who read this brief bulletin.

Israel is currently in her mid-spring season when she still experiences intermittent rain fall. This year the country has been significantly blessed with such unexpected heavy rain, that her largest reservoir of fresh water which was rapidly being depleted, is now flooded over. This year's winter and spring rains have ended a 5-year drought. Thank God for the blessing!

As happens, rainfall is usually accompanied with thunder, lightning and colorful heavenly bows. According to Breaking Israel News: "Yesterday, the heavens over Israel were very active, pouring down rain over most of the country. But the sky over the Judean desert adjacent to the Dead Sea was particularly turbulent with an unprecedented 825 lightning strikes recorded and hail covering the desert sands". This display of elemental opposites was noted by the Israeli Electric Company that claims that yesterday's number of lighting strikes represents an increase of 2,748% from May's monthly average of 30.

It is interesting that of the ten plagues God inflicted upon Egypt just prior to the Jewish Exodus, three were referred to as "magefa" - Hebrew for an "epidemic". These were frogs, hail and the slaying of the first-born. Many Jewish scholars teach that just before the Messiah shows up, Israel and the world can expect a reappearance of plagues, not unlike those listed in the book of Exodus. Jesus affirms this idea in Matthew 24:7. Let us not forget that the "Egyptian plagues" were sent for a very specific purpose. ".....That you may know that there is none like Me in all the earth." Exodus 9:14.

Could it be that Israel's unprecedented weather in the midst of a global pandemic is pointing to the messianic age, as so many seem to believe?

Just a Thought!
